Our New Building is Now Open
 |
Our new Annex is 30' x 60' and has
been designed to closely resemble the style of the other buildings on the
fairgrounds, some of which are over 100 years old. The building will be
east of the present building, within the Fruits and Vegetable Building
and behind the Arts and Crafts building. The building will house the
farm machinery, equipment, tools and articles of the farming industry.
With the agriculture tools in the new annex, more space will be freed up
for more "room" displays in the present Historic Treasures display area.
It is therefore expected that the display will be open one day a month
through the year and for other requested times as well as during the week
of the fair.
The Historic Treasures "Museum" is
located on the grounds of the Cobleskill Agriculture Society
(fairgrounds) and
is supported by the Historic Treasures Committee, a small group of
volunteer Schoharie County residents. The museum's goal is to rescue,
preserve and display antique articles, tools and equipment used in
homes, on farms
and in the businesses in Schoharie County. The purpose is educational,
historic and enjoyable.
