The South Atlantic Charter Boat Association was organized to protect the rights and heritage of the charter fishing industry in the South Atlantic region of the United States, we are a non-profit organization. By joining our association you are helping to create a voice that is more powerful than our voices independently and protecting the rights of respectable law abiding charter fishermen in the South Atlantic region. There is no cost to join but donations to accomplish these actions are appreciated.

HELP WANTED The South Atlantic Fishery Management Council is looking for interested parties to serve on the Snapper/Grouper Advisory Panel to the Council. Presently, there are seventeen members on the AP. Ten represent commercial fishing interests, four represent the for-hire sector and three represent recreational anglers. The for-hire sector is grossly outnumbered and promoting rules and regulations favorable to our industry are next to impossible because of the imbalance. The AP’s generally meet once a year and the SAFMC covers your travel, hotel, meals and incidental expenses, meetings usually last two days. This is a great opportunity to get involved and protect your business while protecting the environment and the resource at the same time. The South Atlantic Council will be making appointments at their December meeting. If you are interested go to www.SAFMC.net, contact Kim Iverson at kim.iverson@safmc.net or call Capt. Bill Kelly at 305-394-5333. |
